Cedartown holds a tree planting ceremony to mark Georgia Arbor Day

A perfect February morning provided the backdrop for a special ceremony once again emphasizing the importance of Cedartown’s connection to maintaining and increasing the tree canopy in the city.

City officials, including members of the Cedartown Tree Commission, were joined last Thursday by students from Kristi Ivie’s exceptional students class at Westside Elementary School to mark Georgia Arbor Day and help plant a tree sapling in the Bert Wood Athletic Complex.
