I understand where PC and OvertheHill is coming from in some aspects. Yes the children should be punished if they are not doing well in school and parents should be involved. But what are the teachers for? They are suppose to be there to teach our children and make sure they know it. if not then why pay them? Why not just throw anybody in there to teach. Oh that is right we are throwing to many teachers in any ol classroom that is not qualified and have to go back to school to get more education or degrees themselves just they can be qualified. Yes children do need help from their parents somewhat. I myself have five children and I have ALWAYS been VERY involved in my children's schooling. Education is a big thing in my household and I always have encouraged them to go as far as they can with their education and reach for the stars that nothing is impossible. All I am saying if there were more teachers in our school like Coach Hartline and the other 8th grade teacher which will remain anonymous, our kids would not struggle so much. What about the teachers at the school that criticize the students and put them down instead of trying to help them and make sure they understand what they are being taught. When teachers make a remark such as it's just a job and you can tell that they don't really care about our children then how do you think our children are going to feel when you can't lean on them to help. After all they are the ones with the BIG education.
