A Cedartown Police Department vehicle alerts motorists to a broken utility pole near the intersection of East Avenue and College Street Friday afternoon. According to Polk County 911, a semi-trailer broke the pole and failed to stop. The pole was broken around 2:30 p.m. City personnel contacted Georgia Power Co. and were informed that a repair crew was on the way, but it was uncertain when they would arrive. Motorists were being advised to use caution at this intersection and to use an alternate route if possible.
