Shorter, along with The Forum, the Georgia Department of Labor, The Rome News-Tribune and Rome Radio Partners, will sponsor the second annual job and career fair on Thursday, Sept. 23 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The fair will be held in downtown Rome inside The Forum.
The job fair is free to both participants and businesses. Additional information and online registration forms can be found here.. "We want every business in Northwest Georgia to come and participate in our job fair. It's going to offer you a great chance to meet and talk with highly skilled professionals," Madden said.
Two local residents who found employment through last year's job fair were in attendance at the Chamber meeting Tuesday morning. One of those residents, Rebecca Overby, spoke to the group of more than 50 local business professionals. She said she considered herself "a job fair success story" and found employment with the Rome News-Tribune shortly after turning in her resume at the job fair. "I am grateful for the opportunity that the job fair gave me and would encourage people who are looking for a job to come to this year's event."
