Cedartown City Commission holds closed session

The Cedartown City Commission will meet tonight in a closed session to discuss a personnel matter.

The meeting will meet at 6 p.m. at Cedartown City Hall, 201 East Ave.

City Manager Charles Akridge confirmed the hearing is regarding a weekend incident in Rome in which he was involved.

Further details were not immediately available.

The commission is allowed to meet in private to discuss personnel matters under Georgia law.

The Cedartown Standard was further informed that an official statement may be released Tuesday morning.
