The Cedartown Xtreme fast-pitch softball team continues to find success on the diamond this season.

The Xtreme competed in an NSA softball tournament at Hobgood Park in Woodstock May 29. The Cedartown team participated in the 10-and-under division against teams from Canton, Woodstock, Douglasville and Calhoun.

In pool play, the Xtreme lost to the Cherokee Pride 5-4 before losing 8-5 to the Douglasville Diamondbacks.

Cedartown was then seeded fourth out of five teams for the elimination portion of the tournament.

The Xtreme knocked off the Calhoun Diamond Dawgs 11-2 to advance to face the No. 1 seeded team, the Cherokee Pride.

This time, the Xtreme upset the top-seeded Pride 7-4. That win placed them in the championship game against the second seeded Cherokee Crushers.

“This game was an extremely tough game, and our girls fought all night,” said Coach Shane Lee of the 7-4 win. “I could not be more proud of our team. Our girls fought all day and night for this Championship.”
