The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has joined in the search for a missing 14-year-old Aragon girl, according to police officials.

Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd said everything is being done to find Amber Graham, who went missing from her mother's home sometime after 11 p.m. Feb. 20.

Reports state her mother discovered the teen missing when she looked into her room around 2 a.m. A kitchen window was open, according to a family member and reports.

Dodd said all surrounding police agencies were called to assist with the search immediately after a report was filed. The U.S. Marshals soon joined in the investigation.

"The City of Aragon has done everything in their power to find her," he said. "We've been involved from day one. We've interviewed the boyfriend. We've interviewed friends at school."

Unfortunately, those interviews have yielded litte useful information. Dodd said now some who may have information aren't cooperating with police.

Dodd said attempts were made early on to trace Amber's location through electronic records and information. He said they have also searched parts of the Silver Comet Trail, going on a lead given to them.

"Everything has been followed with due diligence," Dodd said.

Among those efforts are Aragon police officers coming in on their off-duty time to continue working the case, he said.

One of the concerns in this case, according to Dodd, is that Amber took no clothing or other daily needs items, like toiletries, with her. That would be odd for a runaway, he said.

Dodd said he grows more worried about Amber's safety as each day goes by without more information.

"I don't mid telling you that we're getting concerned that she's not been located," he said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911, the Aragon Police Department at 770-684-6563 or 770-684-6564, or any local law enforcement agency.
