First place in 7-AA South is still being shared, but now it’s only a two-way arrangement.

The Rockmart Lady Jackets and Pepperell Lady Dragons are the co-proprietors of the top spot, while Armuchee has been bumped out.

The new set-up came to form on Thursday after Rockmart downed Armuchee, 6-2, and Pepperell blanked Temple, 5-0, in a pair of key region contests.

With the wins, Rockmart and Pepperell each improved to 5-1 in 7-AA play. Armuchee fell one game behind the leaders, at 4-2.

“It’s exciting to be where we are,” said Rockmart catcher Keisha Addison, who had two doubles and three RBIs in the win over Armuchee. “It makes you want to go all out, and just keep playing your best so you can stay on top.”
