According to the Polk County Police Department:
An officer on patrol on Highway 101 in Aragon noticed a Dodge truck being driven at 11:18 a.m. by a man with a suspended license. The officer recognized the man from a previous incident.
The vehicle was stopped in the parking lot of the Burton's grocery store.
The driver was arrested at that time and charged with driving on a suspended license. The passenger also was held while the vehicle was searched.
Inside the truck, on the floor in a bag, were devices that police say collectively formed a meth lab. The lab was not in operation at that time but had been recently used and contained suspected meth residue, police said.
Both men were taken into custody on charges of possession of methamphetamine and suspicion of manufacturing meth.
According to police, arrested were:
Jonathan Warren, 34, 732 Prospect Road, Rockmart. (Warren is charged with the suspended license violation in addition to the drug charges).
Tim Bryan Smith Jr., 33, 75 Davis Drive, Taylorsville, charged with the drug offenses.
A GBI drug response team was called in to assist in collection of evidence and to dismantle the suspected methamphetamine laboratory.
Drug investigators added that it appeared that the meth lab had been used to "cook" meth earlier that day.
