From Polk County Jail records and Cedartown police reports:
Eureka Lovette Jackson, 35, of 2565 Cartersville Highway, Lot 10, Rockmart, was arrested on a probation bench warrant and charged with battery under the Family Violence Act.
Bobby Jo Leland, 45, of the same address, was arrested for battery under the Family Violence Act.
Police responded to the residence of Jackson and Leland, in reference to the stabbing of an individual there.
Leland, who had been stabbed in the shoulder and is listed as the primary aggressor in the police report, stated that he was unaware of the identity of the person who had assaulted him. The suspect reportedly stated that he had arrived at his residence and was attacked.
Jackson, who is listed as the victim in the report, admitted to stabbing Leland with a kitchen knife outside their residence, stating that he had beat her during a domestic dispute.
According to reports, Jackson had bloodstains on her clothing.
A witness on the scene told police that he had seen Leland strike Jackson on the face and head approximately three times. The witness also claimed to see Jackson swinging an object at Leland but was unaware it was a knife.
In addition to the stab wound, Leland reportedly suffered superficial scratches to his head.
Jackson was reported to have minor swelling on the left side of her face.
Both Leland and Jackson were treated and released from Polk Medical Center and transported to the Polk County Jail.
Cedartown police also arrested a suspect for allegedly stabbing a woman during a domestic dispute on April 26.
From Polk County Jail records and Cedartown police reports:
Coy Napolean Sims, 37, of 634 Georgia Ave. Lot 112, was arrested for aggravated assault and possession of dangerous drugs.
Officers responded to the suspect’s residence at approximately 9:24 p.m. in reference to a female that had been stabbed.
Paulette Ware, listed as the victim in the report and believed to be Sims’ girlfriend was allegedly stabbed in the back of the left arm by Sims.
Sims was spotted running south on Georgia Avenue by police and apprehended, said Det. Sgt. Anthony Bowman.
After the investigation it was determined that “they got into an argument and he stabbed her in the arm,” Bowman said.
Ware was transported by Polk County EMS to Polk Medical Center where she was treated for the stab wound and released.
Sims was transported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for booking and to the Polk County Jail for housing.
