From Polk County Jail records:
Raymond David Johnson, 38, of 1310 Dunn Road, Silver Creek, was arrested for rape, false imprisonment, battery and terroristic threats and acts.
According to an affidavit filed after the arrest, Johnson forced the victim to have sexual intercourse at his home against her will and left several bruises on her body.
Johnson allegedly confined and detained the victim for the purpose of rape and threatened to burn her house down and kill her if she called the police.
Johnson was arrested and taken to the Polk County Sheriffs Office for booking and the Polk County Jail for confinement.
Theft by deception
A Wal-Mart employee was arrested on May 11 for reportedly allowing customers to steal over $600 in merchandise.
From Cedartown police reports:
Brittany Dorsey, 19, of 120 Evergreen Lane, Apt. 51, was arrested and charged with theft by deception.
Police were dispatched to the Cedartown Wal-Mart Super Center, where a store loss prevention employee stated that Dorsey had been ringing up items and voiding them off, allowing customers to pass through without proper payment for the merchandise.
The stolen merchandise totaled $619.88, according to the report. The incidents reportedly took place between April 22 and May 7.
Dorsey allegedly provided a written statement to police admitting wrongdoing.
Dorsey was arrested and transported to the Cedartown Police Department for booking and the Polk County Jail for housing.
Dog attack
A Cedartown woman was attacked by two dogs, including a pit bull on May 16.
From Cedartown police reports:
Penny Chubb, 42, of 328 W. Ellawood St., was walking down Edna Street when she told police a tan colored pit bull ran at her and bit her on the upper back leg.
Another tan colored dog with a long tail, she said, jumped on her and forced her to the ground.
Polk County Animal Control responded to 410 Edna St., where they confirmed that the pit bull did have a current rabies shot.
The owner of the dog, 22-year-old Justin Williams, was issued a citation for a dog running at large.
Chubb reportedly went to the Polk Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment.
Theft by taking
A Cedartown man was arrested for stealing a miniature gas powered motorcycle on May 17.
From Polk County police reports:
Justin Allen Bragg, 18, of 310 Benedict Loop, was arrested and charged with theft by taking.
Police were dispatched to 179 Mildred Dr., where 44-year-old Melissa Barber Puckett said that she had just observed what appeared to be her grandchilds miniature gas operated motorcycle being driven by an unknown white male, near the intersection of Morton Springs Road and Mildred Drive. Puckett said that the bike was gone upon arrival at her residence.
Police approached the male, identified as Bragg, after he was stopped driving the motorcycle down Morton Springs Road approaching Hunnington Road.
Bragg allegedly told police that he had purchased the bike from the Farmers Store thirty minutes prior.
Police spoke with an employee of Farmers Store, who said that he had not sold the bike to Bragg nor had he seen Bragg that day.
Bragg was then arrested and transported to the Polk County Sheriffs Office for booking and the Polk County jail for confinement.
The motorcycle, valued at $550 according to the report, was returned to the owner.
DUI
Polk County police arrested a Cedartown man for driving under the influence of drugs on May 10.
From Polk County police reports:
Clayton Chadwick Cole, 37, 433 Walnut St., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drugs not in their original container and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
While traveling northeast on Pearidge Road, police reportedly observed Cole traveling southwest and attempt to negotiate a curve too fast in his vehicle and run into a ditch in a resident's yard, almost wrecking the car.
The officer then turned around and allegedly observed Cole traveling on the wrong side of Pea Ridge Road.
A traffic stop was then conducted and Cole admitted to consuming three beers. After submitting to and failing numerous field sobriety tests, Cole was arrested.
During a search of Cole's person, police reportedly found a cigarette box in his left front pants pocket with a marijuana cigarette inside, as well as 25 various pills.
According to the report, Cole stated that the pills were Lorecets and that he had taken one earlier that day.
Another cigarette box that contained more pills was reportedly found inside Cole's vehicle.
Cole was arrested and transported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office for booking and the Polk County Jail for confinement.
