A Polk County Grand Jury on March 17 returned indictments of vehicular homicide against a local woman in a March 2007 incident in which a man was struck and killed on Main Street.

Tammy Dalane Dodd — also known by the names Tammy Pyles Dodd and Tammy Karber Pyles — is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle in the first degree; hit and run; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol; driving while license was suspended; and endangering a child by driving a vehicle while under the influence and while the child was also in her vehicle.

According to reports, on March 14, 2007, Franklin Womack, 60, was struck and killed by a motor vehicle while crossing Main Street in Cedartown.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:13 p.m. on North Main Street near Movie Gallery.

Dodd was later arrested on March 29.

Police said Dodd struck Womack while driving intoxicated, then fled the scene.

Dodd was listed as 29 years old and living at a Rome address at the time of the incident.
