Polk has new EMS 911 provider

Rome, GA - Effective July 1, Redmond EMS will be servicing Polk County residents as the 911 provider.

The service will include two 24-hour trucks in Cedartown, two 24-hour trucks in Rockmart and one 12-hour truck at Polk Medical Center. This expands the service to approximately 85 full-time and part-time EMS associates.



A kick-off celebratory luncheon was held at Polk Medical Center Wednesday in honor of the EMS associates.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will also be held Wednesday, July 8 at Station 1, located at 1700 Highway 278. The public is invited to attend.



Redmond Regional Medical Center is a 230 bed facility, serving as a referral source for all of Northwest Georgia and parts of Alabama. Including its healthcare partners, Redmond has over 245 physicians with more than 30 specialties and a support staff of approximately 1,200 associates.
