According to an anonymous member of the Polk County Police Drug Investigation Unit, Corporal Barry Henderson responded to a 9-1-1 hang up at 905 Youngs Station Road, the home of 29-year-old Ronnie Lee Bradley.
The agent said that Henderson went to the home and, while speaking with the residents, he heard a loud commotion from the back of the house. Inside the bedroom, Henderson found the quantity of methamphetamine and a broken window.
“We did field test the drugs and it did test positive for methamphetamine,” the agent said. “It’s probably Red Phosphorus or Mexican dope.” He said that the drugs have an approximate street value of $17,000.
“The uniform division arrived and made the initial entry,” the agent said, detailing the operation. “We went in and found approximately two pounds of meth in the back bedroom. The window was busted out. It looked like someone may have exited through it.” During their investigation, the agent learned that fugitive Marco Antonio Cordero may have been in the house. “We know it was an Hispanic male that ran out. It was possibly Cordero.” Sheriff’s deputies surveyed the area with their K-9 unit, but could not locate the fugitive.
The deputies did find a small quantity of meth, valued at approximately $150, which agents believe the fleeing suspect dropped as he fled the premises.
Cordero was arrested on drug and weapons charges on January 23 and mistakenly released from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on January 30.
Upon examining Bradford’s vehicle, the unit discovered a multitude of weapons. “We found several guns,” the agent said. “One had an altered serial number and one rifle was loaded.”
Police also spoke with Misty Rae McCray, 22, 540 Dugdown Rd., Felton. In her pocketbook, the agent said they found a marijuana cigarette and pipes believed to be used in smoking methamphetamine. McCray was with Cordero during his January 23 arrest; she was booked on marijuana charges.
Both Bradley and McCray were arrested on charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, having altered IDs and trafficking illegal drugs.
McCray was also charged with violating the Georgia Controlled Substance Act (VGCSA) by possessing marijuana, while Bradley was given the additional charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Both are being held at the Polk County jail.
