A power outage in the Rockmart area left about 1,600 customers without electricity for more than an hour Friday morning.

According to a Georgia Power spokesperson, a thunderstorm moved through the Rockmart area shortly after 9 a.m. A tree limb or swaying tree apparently made contact with a power line, tripping the breaker and disrupting power to several neighborhoods at 9:14 a.m.

Power was restored at 10:51 a.m., according to Georgia Power.

No power outages were reported in Cedartown Friday.

To demo dog: Just remember your rantings on the private sector the next time you or someone you love needs your government controlled ambulance service and they are anywhere but where you need them. The private sector allows money to be spent versus your commissioners complaining about not having the money.
