The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Jan. 25:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Bert Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. The Polk County Board of Commissioners retreat will be held in the commissioners meeting room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25.

3. Transitions Hospice Care is seeking compassionate individuals to provide support and companionship to patients. Anyone who would like to become an integral part of the Transitions Hospice Care team and offer superior hospice service to patients and families contact Britnee Tow, Volunteer Coordinator, at 706-378-2273 or btow@transitionshc.com. Opportunities are available in Rockmart, Cedartown and Rome.

4. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission is currently displaying the "Art in Motion" exhibit in the Cultural Arts Center, 316 North Piedmont Ave., Rockmart. The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
