The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Jan. 17:

1. Coosa Valley Regional Services will hold their monthly board meetin on Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. at the main office located at 3 Riverside Industrial Pkwy., Rome, The meeting is open to the public.

2. The Cedartown Library will host the Rome Library Pupeteers today at 10 a.m.

3. The Cedartown library also hosts story time for children every Thursday at 11 a.m..

4. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission, 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, holds drawing classes for ages 13 and up every Monday and Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. with Artist Kathy Torres. Classes are $12 per session. For more information, call Torres at 706-266-7554.
