This year's theme is "The Sights and Sounds of Christmas." There will be three divisions for this year's float contest: church division, open division and most outstanding division. The first place prize for each division is $500. The church and open divisions will have second place prizes of $300 and third place prizes of $200.
Participants are asked not to throw candy or have a Santa Claus on their floats to avoid confusing children.
The parade is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. with a rain date of Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
The parade route will be from Marietta Street to the Badcock furniture parking lot behind Wendy's on North Main Street.
