A program beginning at 1 p.m. will be held for the troops in the Cedartown Civic Auditorium.

This parade today is a great thing to do for the troops and their families. I hope that this very politically conservative community comes out in support of our troops before they go to war and not just plan on lining the streets should a hearse bring them home. Make the effort to go to the parade. Show your support for this effort in some way other than listening to/watching and agreeing with some screaming talk show host. Put forth some effort in support other than nodding your head in agreement as some hatemonger whips you into a state of frenzy while you loll in your recliner in front of the tube. You can't take off work? How about when you're able to work in a few hours off for golf, NASCAR, fishing, ballgames..?

Here is your chance to support the troops. I want them to go and fight a war for me in a far away foreign land but I won't go to Main Street, USA to show my support! What is wrong with this attitude? Be there! Show your support for the troops, don't just talk about it.
