On Thursday, Aug. 23 the young Lady Bulldogs host Armuchee.
“We played really competitively in both games, but unfortunately we lost,” head coach Elisa Prewett said.
Cedartown fell to Armuchee 25-23, 25-20.
On Monday, Aug. 27 Cedartown hosted Coosa and Chapel Hill.
“Our serving was very strong in both of these games,” Prewett said.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Coosa 25-12, 25-10 before falling to Chapel Hill 25-23, 25-15.
On Wednesday, Aug. 29, Prewett’s club played at Lithia Springs.
“The first game was a nailbiter,” Prewett said. “We beat them 27-25. We played very well. Bryanna Lester, Savannah Bentley, Taylor Hester, and Chynna Adams had a great night of serving.
“Lily Tran played an excellent night as our libber. Sabrina Dawson also played a very good game as a setter and back row passer.”
In the second game, Lithia Springs had a strong server who gave Cedartown fits, scoring 17 points against the Lady Bulldogs. But, Cedartown finally got a break and got up to seven points themselves.
In the end, however, Lithia Springs would win 25-7. In the third and final game, Lithia Springs won 25-22.
“I am so proud of the changes I am seeing with the team,” Prewett said. “They are beginning to find their strengths and are putting them to good use.”
The junior varsity team plays again Thursday at Chapel Hill.
