Historical author Larry Carter, a Cedartown native, will be at the Polk County Historical Society, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, to introduce his new book about Polk County.

The 1,003-page book, “Polk County, Georgia-The First One Hundred Years,” gives a chronological history of the county and includes several hundred pages of early records.

Those individuals who have already purchased a copy of the book by mail may stop by the society on College Street and pick up their copy. Extra copies of the book will be available for purchase.
