ATLANTA — Atlanta school board members have approved a charter school's plans to expand and build a new $55 million high school.

CBS Atlanta reports that the Atlanta Public Schools board on Monday night unanimously approved the plan by Drew Charter School.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Drew plans to open the 200,000-square-foot high school in 2013-14 with 100 freshmen. It would add one class per year until the school reaches 600 students in 2023.
