The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, June 18:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activites. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. The Board of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will hold its bi-monthly meeting at 1 p.m. June 18, 2012 at 2 Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta, Georgia in suite 24-260. The board meeting is open to the public.

3. The Rockmart Business Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, June 18 in the new Rockmart Library on Piedmont Avenue. A tour of the facility will be given prior to refreshments and business meeting. For more information, call Mike at 706-767-0500 or Brenda at 770-684-1552.

4. The Polk School District Board of Education will meet in special session at 6:30 p.m. in the central office.
