The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County this weekend, May 12-13:

Saturday

1. A rabies clinc will he held at the Rockmart gym on Hogue Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the cost is $10 for cats and dogs and $15 for horses. All pets must be restrained on a leash or in a carrier. The vaccine will be administered by Greg George, D.V.M.

2. The Post Office will hold its annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive on Saturday, May 12. Non-perishable food items will be collected to be donated to needy familes within the local area.

3. The Junior Miss Cedartown Spirit Pageant will be held 5 p.m. May 12 at Cedartown Middle School, 1664 Syble Brannan Parkway, Cedartown.

4. A fish fry will be held from 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12 at the Rockmart Masonic Lodge. The menu will include fish, hush puppies, slaw, french fires and dessert. Plates are $7 and you can eat in or take it out. All proceeds go to the Slate City Shrine Club. For more information, call 770-715-1357 or 770-684-8346.

Sunday

1. Calvary Baptist Church will hold revival services May 13-16. The revival begins 6 p.m. Sunday, May 13 with Brother Bud Davis preaching. The Calvary Choir will sing.
