The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Feb. 3:

1. The Rockmart Library is closed this week and will reopen in its new location at at 316 North Piedmont Ave building 201 on Monday, Feb. 6.

2. The Kiwanis Club of Cedartown meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. at Cherokee Country Club.

3. All 4th and 5th grade girls interested in joining Girl Scouts are invited to contact Karen Parker at koparker@bellsouth.net or 678-757-0076 for more information; troop meets alternate Tuesdays after school until 5 pm.

4. The Boys and Girls Club nationwide are benefiting from car donations. Donated cars are auctioned off and funds generated support their many programs. To donate a vehicle, or for more information, call 800-246-0493.

5. Transitions Hospice Care is seeking compassionate individuals to provide support and companionship to patients. Anyone who would like to become an integral part of the Transitions Hospice Care team and offer superior hospice service to patients and families contact Britnee Tow, Volunteer Coordinator, at 706-378-2273 or btow@transitionshc.com. Opportunities are available in Rockmart, Cedartown and Rome.
