LaGRANGE, Ga. -- A large crowd is expected to greet Georgia soldiers returning home from Afghanistan.

The National Guard's 1177th Transportation Company is on its way home to LaGrange.

The LaGrange Daily News reports that the soldiers are expected to arrive Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say their buses will circle Lafayette Square on their way to an armory for a reunion with family members.

LaGrange Mayor Jeff Lukken has asked residents to show their appreciation for the returning soldiers by turning out on Lafayette Square, which will be decorated with flags.
