While $3.75 million sounds like a lot of money for a specific job-retraining program, if you consider that as many as 700 people were involved in the layoff - that figure may not be quite so overwhelming.

The U.S. Department of Labor has provided a $3.75 million National Emergency Grant for re-training and support services for the laid-off workers at the hospital.

An open house at the Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Transition Center, 96 East Callahan Street in Rome, the Georgia Northwestern Technical College continuing edu-cation center, is set for Thursday, October 6 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
