Cedartown police investigate assault

Cedartown police responded to Polk Medical Center in reference to a patient with a stab wound, on Nov. 12.

The victim said he was walking from Irwin Street toward Liberty Street when he heard footsteps behind him. When he looked back, he saw two subjects approach him.

According to reports, the subjects attacked the victim, with one of the men stabbing him in the right hip.

After the attack, the subjects ran toward a day care center near Irwin Street, reports said.

The victim received an elongated laceration approximately two inches in length, unknown depth, according to reports.

The victim described one of the subjects as a white male with some facial hair, green eyes, six feet tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. There was no description for the second male in the police report.
