Mrs. Sarah Ann Davis Ray, age 67, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010. She was born on Feb. 13, 1943 in Cedartown, Georgia to the late J. P. and Lois Ann Glass Davis.
Mrs. Ray was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown. She was also an elementary school teacher and will be remembered by her former students as a loving and caring teacher.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, Ron Ray; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron Ray Jr. and wife, Sherri, and Scott and Kristi Ray; two sisters, Janice Lambert and husband Gene, and Ivanette Free and her husband, Jim; a brother, James Davis, and his wife, Judy; and four grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Sarah Ann Davis Ray was 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jeff Davis, Tony Davis, Jason Free, Jim Free, Sid Lambert, and Jim West.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 720, Cedartown, GA 30125; or to the Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund, 15 Booger Hollow Road, Cedartown, GA 30125; or to the church of your choice in memory of Mrs. Sarah Ann Davis Ray.
