He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Maddron Burger; parents, Truman and Annie Burger; brothers, Glenn and Eugene Burger; and sisters, Betty Ann and Irene Burger.
He is survived by his current wife, Alice Burger of Cedartown; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Maxic Burger of Cave Springs and Jeff and Esther Ann Burger of Rome; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Ricky Jackson of Douglasville; stepson and daughter-in-law, Todd and Angel Morgan of Cedartown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior and Sharon Burger of Marietta, Leon Burger of Calhoun, Grady and Jessie Lee “Shorty” Burger of Calhoun, and Jerry Burger of Dalton; sisters, Lucy Staten of Dalton and Mildred Muse of Dalton. Eight grandchildren six great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 21 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Chastain officiating. Interment followed in Murray Memorial Gardens.
Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth was in charge of the arrangements.
