The Georgia Forestry Commission has contained a wildfire near Braswell Mountain on the east side of Polk County.

According to Forestry Chief Senior Ranger Denise Croker, the fire was reported on Sunday. Since then, the forestry commission has been working to contain the fire. Croker said that as of around 5 p.m. Monday, the fire had been contained.

Six forestry personnel are working scene using both ground and air fire control machinery.
