1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activites. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.
2. The Kiwanis Club of Cedartown meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. at Cherokee Country Club.
3. Monster Wars, featuring monster trucks and “mega mud trucks,” will be held May 18-19 at the Polk County Fairgrounds. Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $10 for children. Children under age 2 are admitted free. Huddle House is the primary sponsor. Tickets are available at both the Cedartown and Rockmart locations. Tickets are also on sale at O’Reilly Auto Parts. The event is being organized by the Throttle Jockeys car club and the Cedar Valley Shrine Club.
