The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Jan. 16:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Bert Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission, 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, holds open studio pottery classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with insructor Paul Craighead. The cost is $15 per session. For more information, call Paul Craighead 770-843-5302.

3. The Cedartown High School Council will meet on Jan. 16, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the school conference room. The meeting is open to the public.
