The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Dec. 5:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Bert Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. Colleetoe’s Salon and Floyd Physical Therapy and Rehab are holding a coat drive for the Cedartown United Fund Dec. 3-13. New or used coats can be dropped off to Colleetoe’s Salon, 126 E. Fairmount Ave., Cedartown, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or Floyd Physical Therapy and Rehab, 801 N. Main St., Cedartown from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Floyd is also accepting hats and gloves.

3. Kids in Recovery meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Cedartown Library for kids ages 12 to 19-years-old with substance abuse problems. For more information call Pastor Sims, 770-546-0772.
