The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County this weekend, Jan. 19-20:

Saturday

1.On Saturday, Jan. 19 the eighth annual MLK Youth Conference will hed held at the Cedar Lake Christian Center Ledbetter Hall at 2 p.m. Featured sessions will include “Work Readiness” and “Credit Repair”. The program will also include a special performance by Galilee Bapitst Church and refreshments will be served. Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods.

2. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission, will hold a night of live music at the Rockmart Theatre, 116 E. Elm St., Rockmart at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door or $5 in advance. Sunday

1. The Cedartown First United Methodist Church will hold Sunday morning services at 11 a.m.

2. The Cedartown First Presbyterian Church will hold Sunday morning services at 11 a.m.

3. On Sudany, Jan. 20 the tenth anniversary celebration of the MLK Youth Parade of Talent will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on MLK Boulevard in Cedartown at 2 p.m. The keynote speaker for the event will be Cedartown native Frank Burgess, owner operator of WGAA and Burgess Insurance Company.
