The man arrested with his mother in an Aragon police incident in October faces new charges in Cedartown, according to police reports.

The Polk County Jail docket book states Alex Lamar Poole, 18, of 2011 Lakeshore Drive, Leesburg, Ala., was arrested Sunday by Cedartown police. Poole faces charges of theft by taking (auto), false imprisonment, simple battery and criminal damage in the second degree.

Poole remains in the Polk County Jail.

Other details of the incident leading to Poole’s arrest are not immediately available.

Poole’s mother, Tina Cobb, was arrested in late October after she allegedly tried to steal an Aragon police car. Police made a routine traffic stop on the two and began to question Poole, who was driving.

Cobb was handcuffed and put into a police car because she was reportedly belligerent during questioning of her son. Reports state she escaped and took off in the car, ending in a wreck on Portland Road and Jenna Drive.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) worked an internal investigation into the incident. The results of that probe have not been released.
